AASTHA
As a formal project, Aastha was taken up in 2015, when Tech Mahindra agreed to provide fifty percent of funding for the students passing out of Class VIII in ANKUR, to pay for tutorials, so students could complete their schooling. This was a perceived need which the Trust shared with the donor agency. Till such time, only a few students were sitting for these exams, mostly if their parents could afford it, or individual donors came forward to support them. Jas Bhagati foundation had also provided a one-time help to some students at the behest of the Trust.
Students sit for Class X & XII exams through NIOS provided syllabus and books, for which 50% financial aid is provided. From 2018, when the first batch of Class XII passes out, the Trust is geared to provide financial support towards Teachers Training/ Skilled Computer Training courses.
The progress of AASTHA Students is monitored by the ANKUR Staff and volunteers connected to the project. They return to the Alma Mater for festivals and functions, to keep the link going.
